What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is simply an altered state of consciousness. This is a natural process and we often reach this altered state in everyday life without even knowing it. If you have ever become lost in a film or book or caught yourself daydreaming than you have been in this state.
In therapy sessions I use hypnosis as a tool to help you explore issues from a different perspective.
What happens during a session?
During a session we will briefly discuss what you would like to focus on in that session. Then once you are comfortable, I will guide you through some progressive relaxation to help you enter a deeper state of thought. Some people notice a feeling of weightlessness or heaviness and feel their eyes flutter. It is important to remember that everyone experiences hypnosis differently, there is no right or wrong way.
Please Note:
Hypnosis is not about mind control. I cannot make you do anything you don’t want to.
Hypnosis is not an easy fix. Sometimes it may take some time for you to work through whatever you’re bringing to the session. Unfortunately, there is no easy fix in life. However, hypnosis can make these issues easier and more manageable to work though.
What can it help with?
General issues with mental health
Stress and Anxiety
Insomnia
IBS and other digestive issues
Pain management
Improving performance and confidence
I have a specific interest in using hypnotherapy in relation to bereavement and loss.
